It's barely a fortnight into the Internship and it's hard to almost scribble with words how insightful the Side-Hustle Internship has been for us as a team and as individuals.
The Side-Hustle Internship is priceless and invaluable in how it has provided a learning community and a platform for people of like minds and shared interests. Speaking of learning, it is not in anyway restricted to the Live sessions with professionals in the Tech Industry who Happen to be mentors with Side-Hustle. Rather, it continues and spans into conversations amongst interns.
Within every Team, certain interns dare to be vulnerable enough to air their concerns as touching concepts which they find rather perplexing and somewhat ambiguous. These conversations which mostly emerge when there is some form of need for collaboration avails a certain kind of knowledge base within that space thus making it common and basic to everyone on the team or in that conversation.
The conversation amongst interns continues to bridge the knowledge gap amongst those actively involved in these conversations within the Team thus providing the chance at gleaning from the wealth of knowledge and experience of not just the Side-Hustle Professionals but also interns who are better experienced and vast at an endeavor as readily witnessed in the just concluded group project. The intern who has a faint knowledge of a concept further solidifies his understanding of the concept even as he listens, participates and takes out the time to write some code that has to do with implementing and bringing that body of knowledge to the fore.
The Side-Hustle internship allows for free flow of ideas and sure involves a great deal of collaboration towards solving a collective problem.
Interns involved in the non-coding categories can also attest to such experience. It's an ultimate learning phase in the bid to gaining Mastery at any endeavor... Conversations fuelled by the curiosity of the inquisitive fellow in the group brings in the involvement of every other fellow in the team who believe they have appropriate answers to that area of concern.
A major highlight of the several Eulogies accorded the Side-Hustle Internship is basically how beginner-friendly the structure of the internship is so designed. This includes for those who have either worked with a JavaScript Frontend library other than Vue(i.e. ReactJS / Angular JS), those who have prior knowledge of a programing language other than JavaScript(e.g Java, Go, Python) and even rookies who are just getting acquainted with a framework other than their beginner-orientation of HTML, CSS & JavaScript.
The just-concluded project is totally beginner-friendly in every way. Not only does it test the basic understanding of the few concepts taught hitherto. For most interns, it has further fine-tuned their grasp of basic collaboration tools for developers which include the working knowledge of git (the adopted Version Control System) and the dynamic of GitHub and ultimately the VS Code Text editor from which we hold Pairing sessions through the LiveShare extension.
We are convinced that there's so much more to learn and we can't wait to see our dream of attaining Mastery come true by the end of the Internship.
